Africa has always been a sinkhole of humanitarian foreign aid and just plain human misery. I believe even with unlimited monetary funds, care, and education Africa still could never pull itself out of its dilemma. Africa has as many natural resources if not more than America and Canada combined. My belief has always been that the original culture of Africa has been the problem. Just to prove my point, name me one item that you can find at Wal-Mart besides diamonds that has ‘manufactured in Africa’ stamped on it. Are you using any intellectual property created from Africa? I doubt it. You may be consuming some gasoline sourced from Nigerian oil.
There used to be two shining areas in Africa that used to be on par with modern civilization but for some reason they were very unpopular areas to the elites of foreign affairs. How dare those pesky Europeans try to develop a new economy and improve living conditions for all? How long does a group of people need to reside in a region to be considered indigenous any way? Is 400 years still considered a visitor or occupier (Dutch)? As a side note, if John Kerry were elected president in 2000, would Theresa Heinz-Kerry be considered the first African-American first lady?
Those places were Zimbabwe and South Africa. European adventurers took notice to these regions in the 1480’s and settlers began to reside there in the 1650’s. In South Africa, there were no ‘indigenous’ inhabitants until the European settlers began to develop the land.
Zimbabwe used to be the breadbasket to Africa. Robert Mugabe took over as the socialist dictator of Zimbabwe in 1999. Later he stripped the land ownership from the European descendant settlers and gave the land to his political allies. Now the country’s economy is running a 15,000 percent inflation rate and is receiving foreign aid.
South Africa was ‘liberated’ by the African National Congress and other leftist political organisations in 1994. Nelson Mandela was elected as their president. South Africa’s economy has worsen ever since and the living conditions of the supposively oppressed continues to worsen year after year.
In both cases, the end result is an absolute failure and the elites in foreign affairs get to feel good about themselves. For some reason, it is popular to blame men of pallor for all of mankind’s problems. Even if their prosperity was shared by all.
If Africa really wanted to succeed as a continent, they would allow Mormons to patriot themselves in Africa and safely have private ownership of property. Mormons are a phenomenal and resourceful group of people. How else can one explain a group of individuals migrating to an unknown terrain across the American continent on a hope & a prayer and build a city next to an undrinkable salty body of water. A very successful city that I might add. I believe their ingenuity and hard work ethic could turn Africa into a thriving continent in two generations. Their wombs could re-populate the continent.
This is my prediction for Africa. North America by the end of my generation (Generation-X) will be a bastion of Socialism and a tyranny against personal freedom & responsibility. South America will collapse from the assistance from China promoting Socialistic dictatorships. Europe will be a Muslim continent. Africa will still be the sinkhole of failure and human misery if AIDS and disease has not decimated the population yet. The high achievers around the world who believe in free-market republic societies may make one final stand in defiance to a worldwide growing trend of government re-distribution. That continent will be Africa.
The exodus of high achiever settlers in Africa will be viewed with curiosity and amusement until the society begins to grow and show signs hope of achievement and wealth. Socialism does not create but only takes so it will patiently watch as a new economic host grows. Maybe this time the newly developed Africa will be waiting to fight the Socialist parasite and Islamic intolerance.
