It is well understood that in America, the less you produce the more the government will break its neck to supply an entitlement to the low achiever’s need(s) while condoning the high achiever for even making the effort. I am surprised in this day in age that the Federal government has not trampled on another explicitly written Constitutional right of the American citizen by only allowing one vote per person. Person being defined, as an adult over the age of 18 and American citizenship is not an important criteria.
From the income & taxation perspective, it would be an absolute horror to expect all citizens to pay the same amount of taxes. The low achiever pays 5000 dollars a year; the high achiever pays 5000 dollars a year. The Liberals (Socialist) would be screaming bloody murder that the low achievers are being taxed unfairly and that the high achievers are not being punished enough.
By the same train of thought, why hasn’t the government at all levels not entertained the thought of allowing voting based on income means testing? If America has a progressively punishing tax code why can’t something very similar be implemented to our current voting laws? If you are a single mother on entitlements that can’t keep her legs shut and keep squeezing out more babies; why shouldn’t she have the ability of vote more times than the high achiever with only one vote. If you are a 6 figure income earner, no vote for you.
The government’s definition of equality is unequal circumstances to justify an equal outcome, when will the Supreme Court decide to allow voting based on means testing to make voting more fair to it’s own definition of ‘Equality’?
