As I have written before, Liberals always want to show much they care about an issue but always find a reason why the other guy should pay for the caring whether it is a new government regulation and/or social entitlement. Liberals also tend to frequently accuse others of what they are guilty of (thoughts or actions).
Since I am known as a 'conservative' but not quite a Libertarian, folks at a local restaurant/bar like to instigate spirited debates with me when I go out for an occasional beer. Since I do not drink in front of or around my son, I typically buy a quick beer on Sunday evenings after I return my son to his mother from a weekend visitation. I normally don't mind the political debate because I have had a clear mind all week and the individual who chooses to debate me has been drinking at the bar for some time on Sunday afternoon. It is fun to debate a drunk because a drunk typically tells the truth of one's self and their thinking process is slowed down. It is fun to make a fool out of someone who is intoxicated.
There is a particular individual that always feel compelled to engage me in a political debate every time he sees me. He always starts the debate by saying “I am a proud Liberal and I am a Democrat”. From there the debate always goes to the disparity between whites and coloreds and how society should compensate them for the difference. Of course it is my resources that should help these people but never his resources. Finally I asked him, why is it that you think that coloreds should receive this assistance? If coloreds have two hands, two feet, and a functioning brain what is stopping them in your mind from achieving the same level of achievement or greater than any of us? My political counter part quickly stated, "Well they are lazy and not as smart as us. Giving these people entitlements and special rights levels the playing field. These people could not make it without our help". My mouth just dropped and I was stunned by his response. When I stated that his statements where not complementary to coloreds my political counter part stated, "That was OK because government special treatment of coloreds validated his beliefs and compensates them for his un-politically correct belief". He felt vindicated of his beliefs.
Immediately, everything I have observed about Liberals and their relationship with minorities came into focus. His response made it clear why caring Liberals always feel compelled to bring out the race card and the need for government regulations and/or social entitlements. Liberal’s superior attitude or belief of them selves can be atoned by government regulations and/or entitlements. While in the process, blame the conservatives of being racist or bigoted. Equal treatment does not pay and requires effort & individual responsibility. Simply, Just pay for your supremist attitude and the sin is forgiven.
When you observe individuals who declare them selves as Liberals they are either a minority recipient of entitlement or they are the individuals who state they care about the minority individual on the entitlement. In reality, the two groups interact like oil and water.
The 'caring' Liberal individual would not dare to associate with a colored person unless the interaction was a photo opportunity for fund raising for some type of a social cause. In their mind they believe that they are superior to others. How many ‘caring’ Liberals live in the neighborhoods of the individuals they care about or would allow their children to even attend the same failing schools?
To prove my point, if David Duke, Louisiana White Suprememist, declared himself a Liberal Democrat and created a new targeted entitlement to the recipient class he would be treated with the same Liberal acceptance as the Virginia Senator Robert Byrd. Their attitudes toward the coloreds are the same. The only real difference is that David Duke is financially conservative.
Unfortunately the recipient Liberal class is more than willing to accept the condescending attitude and treatment of the ‘caring’ Liberals for preferential mandated treatment and monetary entitlements. Martin Luther King Jr. is probably spinning in his grave knowing his idea of equal opportunity has been butchered by today's interpretation. Unequal treatment to create equal outcomes. It seems like an absolute insult to me to agree to such terms. Why coloreds are willing to accept sub-par expectations of achievement from ‘caring’ Liberals has always puzzled me.
By my own self-definition, I am an equal opportunity offender. I treat everyone with the same courtesy and the same criteria. By today’s definition equal treatment to others seems to be considered racist. I have two categories of Americans; you are either an American or an illegal alien and you are either a high achiever or not.
