Who owns my physical body anyway, the government or me? I am responsible for feeding it, maintaining it, and I am the one who experiences the pain inflicted to it. I have a brain that controls this physical body’s motions anyway I want and I have the ability to reason and chose my destiny. If I am ultimately responsible for maintaining this carcass, it is my private property. If I have so much freedom how to treat my physical body, why does the Federal Government make it illegal for the American private citizen to sell their own body parts when you are alive but you can donate your body parts for free when you are dead? Why would the government stop the transfer of wealth to my survivors or me? (Yes I know it is a stupid question, the Government believes all wealth is theirs.)
For example; if Joe Six-Pack is a healthy man with two kidneys who is in financial dire straits & his house is going to be foreclosed on by the bank and there is another individual Typhoid Mary who needs a healthy kidney both business sides consent on the terms of the business exchange and they are a biological match. They both go to the hospital. Typhoid Mary acquires a life saving body organ and Joe Six-Pack receives a Cashier’s check to remedy his financial situation. Joe Six-Pack is still a healthy tax paying citizen and Typhoid Mary lives another day to keep receiving her government entitlements. Who is being harmed and what is the illegal crime?
Is the business transaction illegal because the government was not involved in the collection of taxes or permits? Is this an issue that a healthy individual financially benefits from being healthy? (How unfair…) Think of the reduction of deaths of people waiting for organ donors and the ability of healthy American citizens to acquire wealth by other non-traditional methods.
If the government grants permission for a pregnant woman to legally rip flesh out of her body for any reason or benefit why can’t everyone else?
