Jacksonville Florida is a million plus community divided by the mighty St. Johns River. There are seven bridges that span the St. Johns River in Duval county, which keeps Jacksonville connected. With only seven bridges, the traffic can easily be disrupted if an individual bridge has some kind of traffic issue, which restricts the traffic flow. **As a side note, our St. Johns River is one of two rivers in the world that travel from south to north. The other river is the Nile in Egypt. Some say that the St. Johns River flows north because Georgia sucks but that topic is for another article.
In the past four months, there have been three bridge suicide attempts here in Jacksonville Florida. The Mathews Bridge had one suicide attempt and the Dames Point Bridge has had two suicide attempts. Each time an inconsiderate drama queen decides he/she wants to contemplate a bridge suicide the entire bridge is shut down in both traffic directions by the police authorities so that the drama queen can be begged and bribed off the bridge. While the bridge is closed, tens of thousands of commuters are inconvenienced affecting their schedules, lost of market productivity, and extra carbon waste since we are so concerned about the environment. Some unfortunate individuals are plain just stuck on the bridge. Some commuters are not allowed to move forward and not allowed to back up off the bridge, they are also technically held hostage on the bridge for hours at the whim of the suicide drama queen. All right Liberals here is your chance to chime in about ‘Collective’ rights; the rights of all the petroleum burning commuters or the single right of the suicide drama queen.

I believe that the sanctity of life only goes so far when someone threatens to take his or her own life. My attitude is fine, go ahead. One less potential person on the public dole and siphoning off the medical resources. Who wants this nut case walking around our streets on Paxil with the potential to do the next irrational action against the public? Why not instruct the suicide drama queen on the bridge by the count of three jump or the police authority will shoot? Make these copy cat suicide drama queens to really think if they are serious about their actions to themselves and others. It will certainly stop this growing popular trend in our community.

How does a Liberal side on this issue? Is the environment concern of saving the Earth more important than saving a suicide drama queen because of all the excess CO2 produced from the extra inconvenienced traffic? Or, it is the enablement of the suicide drama queen through government services worth the production of excess CO2 produced from the extra inconvenienced traffic?
As the cold hearted Libertarian, my answer is short. Shoot the suicide drama queen so I have the ability to build more wealth and enjoy it today before my wealth is confiscated by a tyrannical parasitic government.
